Courses are supervised by experienced Veterinary Surgeons and professional calf rearers.
All major aspects of calf health and rearing from birth to twelve weeks will be covered including:
- Calving
- Care of the neo-nate
- Colostrum Management
- Housing
- Weaning and post weaning feeding to maximise potential
- Health and Disease control
- Practical handling, disbudding and castrating
The aims of the course are to enhance the calf rearer’s current knowledge of management, welfare and disease awareness to realise the potential in producing quality reared calves for both the dairy and beef industry.
