PMR training can offer a comprehensive range of chainsaw training and qualifications. We can offer basic LANTRA Awards ITA (Integrated training and assessment) courses to Level 3 City & Guilds NPTC qualifications.

LANTRA Awards training only courses are designed to prepare candidates for City & Guilds NPTC certificate of competence. These City & Guilds certificates are recognised as being the appropriate qualification for professional Chainsaw operators.

These Chainsaw and Ground-Based Arboriculture courses are Integrated Training and Assessment courses (ITA) leading to a Lantra Awards Certificate in Basic Training.

  • 2 day Lantra Awards ITA in Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting
  • 2 day Lantra Awards ITA in Basic Felling Techniques (up to 200mm in diameter)
  • 4 day Lantra Awards ITA in Chainsaw Maintenance, Crosscutting and Basic Felling Techniques (up to 200mm in diameter)
  • 1 day Lantra Awards ITA in Woodchippers
  • 1 day Lantra Awards ITA in Stump Grinders

These Lantra Awards training only courses in Chainsaw and Arboriculture are designed to prepare candidates for assessment for City & Guilds NPTC Certificate of Competence in the CS units.

City & Guilds NPTC Certificates of Competence in Chainsaw Operations and Arboriculture are recognised in the HSE guidance as being the appropriate qualification for professional chainsaw operators.

  • 5 day Lantra Awards training only in Chainsaw Maintenance, Crosscutting and Felling Small Trees (up to 380mm in diameter) – Leading to City & Guilds NPTC assessment in units CS30.1, CS30.2 & CS31
  • 3 day Lantra Awards training only in Felling Trees above 380mm in diameter – Leading to City & Guilds NPTC assessment in unit CS32
  • Lantra Awards training only in Dealing with Windblown Trees – Leading to City & Guilds NPTC assessment in unit CS34 / CS35
  • 5 day Lantra Awards training only in Basic Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue – Leading to City & Guilds NPTC assessment in unit CS38
  • 2 day Lantra Awards training only in Using a Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness Leading to City & Guilds NPTC assessment in unit CS39
  • 2 day Lantra Awards training only in Arboricultural Pruning Operations Leading to City & Guilds NPTC assessment in unit CS40
